The 2008/2009 school year is only 2 months away, and
if you are planning to study in a foreign country this Fall, a
little advanced planning can save you a lot of time and hassle.
A few things you can do now to help you along the
way:
- - with the
credit crunch under way in the USA, international education
funds are harder to come by so apply early
- - search for
scholarships to fund your international study -- free money is
always the best!
- - talk to and learn from current
international students, you can get first-hand information and
valuable tips
-
- normally the
earlier you book your international airfare, the cheaper it will
be, and easier to find good flights and seats
- - take time to study
and learn your visa type to make sure you stay within status and
do not violate your visa rules
-
- check to see whether your school
permits you to purchase an alternative health insurance plan

Nearly all countries around the world now work on GSM mobile phone
systems, which means that when you travel the globe your phone will
work in nearly every country. However, be careful, because your
mobile phone operator in your home country will often charge you a
lot of money for making and receiving calls when roaming
internationally.
To save money, you can now purchase individual pre-paid international
sim cards that you can put into your phone and it will save you
hundreds! For those traveling to countries for an extended period
you can buy a country specific sim card or if you are traveling to
multiple countries you can purchase a Global Sim Card.
For more information about our sim cards and how they can save you
money check out:

Weak Dollar Doesn't Slow Growth of Study Abroad
As college students in the United States pack up
and head to Europe this summer to attend academic programs, a weak
dollar and the high price of oil are making it tougher. About
225,000 U.S. students will study abroad in 2008 in what many hope
will be a life-altering experience to broaden horizons and develop
independence.
With the greenback down by more than 20 percent
against the euro and about 6 percent against the British pound in
the last two years, many colleges have had to raise the costs of
study-abroad programs.

There are many reasons for the popularity of Italian
language and culture: Italy is one of the most significant centres
of fine arts in the world, it is the birthplace of classical music
and it offers unique archaelogical sites in an amazing landscape.
Milan, for example, is the city of fashion and
football, while Florence invites you to discover brilliant artistic
flowering. You might choose Rome, the "eternal city" of
Romulus and Remus, or Venice to celebrate the famous festival
Carnevale and to enjoy a romantic gondola ride.
To find the right Italian course, "The Language
Course Finder" offers you the opportunity to search for
language courses according to your personal criteria (e.g.,
location, course type, group size, accommodation, supplementary
activities...)
